We’re not sure what the Drama Club will be doing this fall in this exceptional school year, but Oxbow traditionally presents a fall production in November and a spring production in April. The plays and musicals are open to all Oxbow students in grades seven through twelve who are academically eligible.
Oxbow went to remote learning on March 17, 2020, weeks before the spring production of “Puffs” was to be staged. The April performances were cancelled, like all extra-curricular activities.
Previous productions included “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” (spring 2018), a Broadway show; the original production “Olympian Love” (fall 2018); the original production “Robin Hood” (spring 2019), and most recently, another original production, “Hometown Hospital” (fall 2019).
If we are able to stage a fall production, we’ll let you know! English teacher David Cassidy ran the club from 2013 until 2018. His work included productions of “Peter Pan,” “Almost Maine,” and “Working,” as well as a legendary staging of “The Miracle Worker.”
Science instructor Lisa Jones and English teacher Ted Pogacar have directed the last four productions.
